Fund Raising Events |
The Albany Public Schools Foundation has concentrated its efforts in two successful areas:
- classroom grants
- student scholarships
The foundation hosts two annual fund raising events to achieve the goals of our organization. They are:
iRun for Kids (Formerly known as the "Eat and Run") |
-
iRun for Kids: In March of each year, the Foundation hosts a running event. This year we are featuring a 10 mile and 5k run/walk. Funds are generated from corporate sponsorships and participation fees. Net proceeds are used to fund arts and activity grants through the foundation's classroom grants program. The iRun for Kids event will be on Saturday, March 16, 2013. Detailed information for this event is described below and also under the iRun for Kids tab on the main menu.
iSwim for Kids (Formerly knowm as Swim-A-Lap) |
-
iSwim for Kids: In February of each year, the Foundation hosts an iSwim for Kids event. Students obtain pledges for this event and swim at South Albany Community Pool. Half of the funds raised in the iSwim for Kids event goes directly back to the schools of the swimmers. The other half of the funds are distributed through our classroom grants program. The iSwim for Kids event will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2013 from 8:00-11:00 a.m. at South Albany Community Pool. Detailed information for this event is described below.
